My (Awkward) Garden Story
When I first moved into my place, the yard felt overwhelming. A kind woman stopped by to help, but she spoke in plant Latin and expert language I did not understand. I was too intimidated to ask questions.
I learned the slow way. Videos, books, experiments, mistakes. Over time, I built a yard that feels steady and peaceful.
I am neurodiverse. I have lived with anxiety, rejection sensitivity, and decision paralysis. Nature did not fix those things, but it gave me a place where I could breathe and begin again without judgment.
Awkward Acres exists for anyone who wants that same steady place to start. You can begin awkward, and you do not have to do it alone.
Common hurdles I help with
- Not sure what should go where or how things fit together
- Endless researching but still unsure what to plant
- Worried about spending money on the wrong things
- Getting stuck when it is time to decide
- A yard that feels messy or disconnected
How it works
- Tell me a little about your yard. No prep needed.
- We walk the space together and sort things out.
- You get a clear plan so you know exactly what to do next.
